Home Theater Speakers

If you are putting together a home theater system you have many options when it comes to the speakers you can choose for the system. Depending on how you want to mount the speakers and how many speakers you want your system to include, you may decide to mix and match several different types of speakers. An overview of the different speaker types as well as how you can mount them may help you to decide the best kinds of speakers for your home theater system.

One of the nicest ways to mount a speaker is so that it is actually in the wall or the ceiling. If you are putting together the home theater system during new construction it gives you an excellent opportunity to do just that. Speakers that are mounted within the wall or ceiling usually have a tendency to be more stable and have less vibration. Depending on the wall material of the room where you have your home theater system, you may want to choose a speaker that is specially suited to be mounted on that particular kind of material.

Outdoor speakers can help you to take the party outside. If you have a large patio or backyard area you may on occasion decide to show movies outside, especially if you us a projector as the main video source for your home theater. There are many different kinds of outdoor speakers on the market, but likely if you have put time and effort into planning the decor of your backyard or patio, you want speakers that will fit the decor. If you are going for a natural look in your yard then you may want to consider a rock speaker. If you get one of the higher quality units they usually do not even have grille holes so that it can be identified as a speaker.

To get the most out of any speaker system it is usually a good idea to consider making the investment in an amplifier. Amplifiers work with the source and the speakers to find the perfect balance and create the highest quality sound for your home theater system. Amplifiers also allow you to adjust the dynamics of the sound in order to best work with the existing acoustics in a room. They can also be used to supply power to subwoofers, which allow you to truly experience the lower tones of any movie that you are watching or music you are listening to.

Speaking of subwoofers, your home theater system would not truly be complete without the addition of either an active or passive subwoofer. The ability to integrate the unit into the wall means that it will produce clearer sound since the vibration will be greatly reduced.

Choosing the right speakers for your home theater system means that you will have a perfect theater experience every time you watch a movie. Research will allow you to determine which speakers best suit your needs and the acoustics of the room they will be located in. A good set of speakers can make all the difference in the world, so take the time to make sure you choose the right kind.

What is a Pinhole Surveillance Camera and How Can it be Useful to Me?

A pinhole surveillance camera can serve a variety of home and office security needs. Before choosing a pinhole surveillance camera to purchase, you should educate yourself on the different types available, as well the different features and technical requirements of each type of pinhole surveillance camera.

The first thing you need to know is what exactly a pinhole surveillance camera is. Basically, a pinhole surveillance camera is a very tiny video camera. The lens of this type of camera is very small, between and one and two millimeters. Due to it’s very small size, the pinhole camera can film through a very tiny hole or even lightly woven clothing. The video image produced by a pinhole surveillance camera is similar to the quality of an everyday camcorder type of camera. Pinhole cameras may come with or without the capability to capture audio or sound. Another feature option on this type of camera is that they are available in both wired and wireless configurations. In order to view the video captured by the pinhole surveillance camera, you would need to hook the camera up to a viewing device such as a television, computer monitor, camcorder, or other viewing device.

Obviously, the tiny sized pinhole camera would be ideal in a situation in which you do not want your surveillance to be detected. For example, the pinhole type of camera would be useful as what is often referred to as a “nanny cam”. A nanny cam is simply a camera a family would install to record the activities of their child’s or children’s caretaker. A nanny cam could also refer to a camera that is used to record the caretaker of an elderly relative or loved one. Another situation in which a pinhole camera might be useful would be in an office where you want to track the comings and goings of your employees. Also, a pinhole camera could be helpful in tracking the happenings in a company stockroom, especially where employee theft is suspected. Lastly, a pinhole camera could be useful in confirming the suspected infidelity of a spouse or significant other.

If you purchase a wired pinhole camera, you will need to connect it to your VCR or DVD recording device using an RCA cable. You will also need to plug the camera into an AC power source. If there is no electrical power source available, some pinhole cameras are capable of running on a battery, but this will obviously limit your video capture time. If you purchase a wireless pinhole camera, you will be setting up a transmitter and a receiver. Many pinhole cameras have the transmitter built into the camera so all you need to do is hook the included receiver up to your video capturing device. It is important to note that most wireless pinhole cameras do not have the ability to record sound. So make sure you take this into consideration when selecting your camera.
